The International Baccalaureate (IB) aims to develop inquiring, and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The IB offers high quality programmes of international education to a worldwide community of schools.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is suited to students aged 3-12. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is suited to students aged 11-16. The Diploma Programme (DP) is suited to students aged 16-19.

These three IB programmes for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. There are approximately one million IB students at over four thousand schools in more than 140 countries.

The IBDP subject courses currently available at Sydney AIA Strathfield campus include: 

Group 1: Studies in language and literature. Language A English HL Language and Literature.

Group 2: Language acquisition. Language B Arabic (SL or HL), or ab initio (SL only). Indonesian ab intio and SL available on request. 

Group 3: Individuals and societies. Humanities and social sciences courses offered at both SL and HL: Business and Management, Information Technology in a Global Society (ITGS)

Group 4: Experimental sciences. At both SL and HL: Chemistry, Biology.

Group 5: Mathematics. Mathematical Studies SL, Mathematics SL.
